The book of Revelation, the only truly prophetic book in the New Testament, records the final answer in our Lord’s model prayer: “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. As the title indicates (“Revelation” is from the Greek word ἀποκάλυψις apokalypsis meaning “unveiling”; “uncovering”; “revealing”) this last book of the Bible represents God’s uncovering of Truth concerning divine things previously hidden or unknown. It very naturally completes the circle of revealed truth which the Lord began in Genesis, and it culminates in the New Heaven and New Earth of the eternal state.
